Cruel Lover – Part One.

He loved her madly, an obsessive love that consumed his heart. His jealousy was suffocating—he was even jealous of himself when it came to her. Throughout their marriage, his love and jealousy overwhelmed her. She loved him deeply too, despite her frustration with his possessiveness. Yet, could love exist without trust? Trust and love are intertwined—love is trust, and trust is love.

But his love shattered, and his heart hardened at the first twist in their lives. He accused her of the worst betrayal imaginable—infidelity. He refused to listen, understand, or believe her. Instead, he hit her, imprisoned her, humiliated her, and married another woman. Yet, he could not bring himself to divorce her. He kept her in his house for four years while fathering two children with his second wife. It seemed that his heart had turned to stone. Even after sharing one last night of passion with her—a night that erased their pain—he divorced her. He cast her out, not knowing she carried a resilient, fierce daughter in her womb.

Despite her mother’s suffering, that daughter grew up strong, determined, and independent. She was born without a father or a family—just her and her mother. But the story does not end here. The daughter, like a sword at her mother’s back, vowed to take revenge.

Between Past and Present
The story shifts between the mother’s past and the daughter’s present. Her father was a passionate yet cruel lover, and she vowed to follow in his footsteps—only this time, as a hunter instead of the hunted. After learning about her mother’s painful past, she devised a plan, chose her target, and prepared to execute her revenge.

Main Characters

  1. Adam El-Sharqawi – A man in his mid-thirties, shaped by years of working in his family’s business. He is strong yet vulnerable, firm yet kind. He sacrifices himself for others but becomes merciless when angered. He gives people multiple chances, but once pushed, he becomes ruthless. Adam has dark eyes, black hair, and a tanned, attractive complexion. Many women admire him, but love and romance are not his priorities.

  2. Shaghaf El-Rawi – A 22-year-old woman resembling her mother with striking turquoise eyes and naturally curly black hair. She appears innocent yet possesses a sharp, cunning personality. People are drawn to her like a kitten, unaware of her hidden claws.

  3. Siham – Shaghaf’s 50-year-old mother, who endured a life of injustice. Her only concern is her daughter’s happiness.

  4. Jamal – Shaghaf’s 54-year-old father, a man whose anger matches Adam’s. He has a dimple on his left cheek, the only feature he passed on to his daughter.

  5. Soumaya – Jamal’s second wife, a cruel and manipulative woman who played a role in his separation from Siham.

  6. Hatem – Shaghaf’s 25-year-old half-brother, kind and unlike his mother.

  7. Nagham – Shaghaf’s 23-year-old half-sister, selfish and cruel, much like her mother.

  8. Hossam – Adam’s 25-year-old brother, who loves Nagham, though she does not reciprocate his feelings.

  9. Haneen – Adam’s 22-year-old sister, kind-hearted to the point of naivety, often exploited by others.

  10. Mariam – A poor girl the same age as Shaghaf.

  11. Marwan – A 32-year-old army officer and Adam’s close friend, living in a neighboring apartment for five years.

  12. Selim – The youngest of the group at 29, a business graduate who works with Adam.

Flashback: A Prelude to the Story
On her first day at university, Siham walked through the college gates, barely believing she had achieved her dream of studying at the university. She was uncertain where to go or whom to ask for help until she spotted a girl her age by the entrance.

Siham: “Excuse me, can I ask you something?”
Girl: “Of course.”
Siham: “I’m new here, and this is my first year. I don’t know where to go.”
Girl: “I’m new too, and my cousin is taking me to register. Would you like to come with us?”
Siham: “Sure!”
Girl: “I’m Soumaya. What’s your name?”
Siham: “I’m Siham.”
Soumaya: “What’s your major?”
Siham: “Literature.”
Soumaya: “Me too! What a coincidence!”
Siham: “Nice to meet you.”
Soumaya: “Here comes my cousin.”
Jamal: “Peace be upon you.”
Siham and Soumaya: “And upon you.”
Soumaya: “Jamal, you’re so late! I’ve been waiting for half an hour.”
Jamal: “Sorry! I was looking for class schedules to save time.”
Soumaya: “No problem. This is my friend, Siham. Siham, this is my cousin, Jamal. He’s in his third year of engineering.”
Siham: “Nice to meet you.”
Jamal: “Nice to meet you too.”

That first day marked the beginning of an unforgettable story. While Siham was focused on her studies, Jamal couldn’t stop thinking about her angelic face, mesmerizing eyes, and beautiful hair. He didn’t believe in love at first sight—until that moment. From then on, he saw her as his future partner. Their encounters grew frequent due to Soumaya, but Jamal had a different goal.

Siham realized his feelings when he insisted she stop working as a cleaner and instead join his father’s company.

The story weaves between past and present, exploring love, betrayal, and revenge as Shaghaf uncovers her mother’s secrets and plans her own fate.
