 Recent storms have caused widespread power outages across western Washington, impacting thousands of Puget Sound Energy (PSE) customers. As of November 19, 2024, strong winds from a significant weather system known as a "bomb cyclone" have left over 50,000 PSE customers without power. Areas such as Whatcom County and others across the region have experienced outages due to gusts reaching up to 60 mph. Crews are actively working to assess and repair damage, including downed power lines and fallen trees​
